 Education:

  • Degree in Aeronoartical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

12 years experience in aviation with atleast  3 years in a senior / managerial position.

Review standard and quality of services provided against set guidelines and submits recommendations for improvements. Determines compliance of maintenance activities with established global (European Aviation Safety Agency Part 145, Part 147, ISAGO, ISO9000:2000) standards and requirements. Manage the operational budget of the unit and ensure maximizing of productivity through resource utilization.

Internal:.

  • Various sections within Engineering  to seek clarifications on QA related matters

  • Unit Heads across organization to discuss QA issues and clarifications

  • Top Management to report discrepancy or conditions adversely affecting operations

External:  

  • Traffic Department Level / Station Manager / HQ Staff of Airline discuss QA requirements With regulatory bodies such EASA, UKCAA, BAH CAA, FAA and airlines QA team for audits and other quality control and assurance clarifications

KEY DUTIES

Plans, coordinates and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in Catering Services Department which includes both catering to airline customers and Terminal catering for passengers, paying customers and staff.  Ensures that he services provided conform with the highest standards of quality.  Maintains good commercial relations with airline representatives and negotiates prices and other requirements with them.  Prepares annual budget for the Department and provides justifications for variances.  Constantly reviews standard and quality of services provided and submits recommendations for improvements.

Approximately 7000 meals are prepared daily for airline customers and 2500 meals for Terminal customers.

Requirements

 Minimum professioanl status of following:

Completion of Secondary (12 year) education, followed by 3 years’ formal apprenticeship training and certification in applicable discipline

*      Instructor Technique Course Certificate

*      Maintenance level license in respective category, Aircraft type training, or legal approval to instruct such maintenance

Experience:

7 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in aviation maintenance including 4 years’ as an Instructor

KEY DUTIES

Ensure adherence to various technical, safety , security and health regulations (For e.g. – EASA 145, UK CAA, FAA etc) as laid down by the organization and by concerned airlines.

Prepare for regular and surprise audits

Execute processes to ensure compliance to stringent audit / regulatory requirements

 

  • Understand units operational requirements and coordination with various stakeholders within unit to execute these efficiently

  • Prepare and maintain course materials for inclusion in basic or type class instruction; this includes course syllabi, instructional notes, overhead projections, power point presentations examinations and handouts

  • Ensure preparation of all course materials as per approved international civil aviation standards

  • Conduct basic courses in respective discipline for students / employees completing their approved apprenticeship, trainee mechanics, engineers and flight crews. This includes basic theory of respective systems and operational instruction on typical systems or equipment

  • Use and update appropriate training aids (audio visual equipment, charts, presentations and schematics, models, parts, visits to workshop and hangar etc) to demonstrate the practical applications of theories presented

  • Ensure adherence and execution of requests for training for special purposes (such as external ministries, agencies, specific electrical wiring training, fuel tank safety training etc)

  • Plan end to end training programs for maintenance; this includes needs analysis, designing training program and  execution as required

  • Liaise with various sections (examination etc) to provide inputs on examination patterns; this includes rewriting examination questions as required, analyzing trends that require re-structuring of learning materials and testing etc

  • Scrutinizes examination papers and submit result sheet to seniors which notes phase examination scores and attendance within standards. 

  • Recommend trainees for refresher courses or examination resetting, based on trainee needs and capabilities as a result of course feedback from the trainee’s supervisors

  • Ensure course material and syllabus is as per global standards (EASA, UKCAA, FAA etc)

  • Conduct familiarization /type/refresher course in discipline systems leading to license exams for ground engineers, experienced engineers, skilled mechanics and apprentices. This  includes description and operation of systems, maintenance practices, rules and regulations, and utilizing training aids such as working models, component locator guides, maintenance systems trainers, cockpit simulator, etc)

  • Maintain regulatory body (EASA IR PART 147) standards of training; this includes monitoring of course materials and exams, review trainee's progress reports and follow-up

  • Monitor availability of support requirements to execute course effectively; this includes stationary and related materials, new training aids etc

  • Update syllabi as required to better accommodate trainee comprehension and retention

  • Monitor escalations and resolve queries as required to ensure uninterrupted operations

  • Ensure training standards are met through regular monitoring of standards set in accordance with global audit requirements (EASA 145, UKCAA, FAA etc)

  • Performs supervisory duties at the management level established for the position

  • Maintain attendance records for candidates

  • Provide and receive training (attending IR PART 147 approved courses held by aircraft equipment vendors, base training with IR PART 145 Maintenance Repair Organization, actual shift work in desired systems maintenance and repair, prepare course materials and trial instruction) as required for capacity building
